Founded in Tirana in 1997, AlbaHolding SA is an integrated energy company headquartered in Albania with offices in Podgorica, Pristina and Skopje. Our 420 employees generate, supply and trade electricity for households, businesses and municipalities across Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
From our hydro roots on the Drin river, we have grown into a multi-energy operator: 180 MW of renewable capacity installed or under construction, a regulated supply book of around 210,000 customers, and a clear target — 60% renewables in our supply mix by 2030.

Our history
- 1997 — Company founded in Tirana as a hydro operator on the Drin river.
- 2015 — First cross-border supply contract, Kosovo.
- 2018 — Montenegro entry; supply office in Podgorica.
- 2021 — Wind development programme launched.
- 2024 — Groundbreaking at Fushë Kosovo Solar Park.
- 2026 — 420 employees; 180 MW renewable portfolio.
Our governance
AlbaHolding SA is governed by a five-member Board of Directors supported by three committees: Audit, Remuneration and Sustainability. Each country operation reports to a Managing Director, ensuring decisions stay close to our customers and regulators.

Our code of conduct covers anti-corruption, fair competition and a confidential whistleblowing channel open to employees, suppliers and partners.
Our 420 employees
Engineers, traders, field technicians and customer advisers: 38% women, average tenure 6 years, and 24 hours of training per employee every year. Safety remains our first KPI across all sites.

Wind
Kruše Ridge Wind Farm — 48 MW in operation
Twelve turbines supplying 40,000 homes in Montenegro since September 2026.
Hydro
Drin Valley hydro — 72 MW modernized
Phase 2 of our €60M upgrade completed in August 2026, with new fish-friendly intake systems.
Storage
Vlora Battery Storage — 20 MW / 40 MWh from 2027
Grid-scale storage stabilizing prices and securing supply on the Albanian coast.
